Kudos acknowledges and pays respect to the Gadigal and Bidjigal people of the Eora nation. They are the traditional custodians of the land Kudos operates on. We create, design, share, and exchange our work and knowledge on this important meeting place. We pay our respects to elders past and present and extend that respect to any First Nations people who engage with Kudos. This is and always will be Aboriginal land.
Objects in Orbit05/02/25 - 13/02/25
Curated by Carey Cheng featuring Adrian Mok, Angie Geng, Evan Han Ye, Felix Jackson, Henry Liang, Keroshin Govender, Molly Holland, James Little, Jordan Dempsey and Sarah Ong
The project emphasises space and materiality, guided by a set of limiting rules— no drilling, no damage to the space, no wall placement, and each object must interact with at least one other. These limitations challenge artists to move beyond traditional methods of showcasing their work, embracing the ephemerality of co-creation and the dynamic interplay between space, objects, and collaboration. The resulting installations are intentionally open to interpretation.
The two-week exhibition presents four durational performances featuring two groups of artists and two performers. During the opening, the first four artists activate their installations through live modifications, accompanied by two bamboo-synergised performances. In the Second Week Transformation, the remaining four artists reshape and reimagine the installations through processes of modification and addition. The exhibition culminates in a performative finale, where the artists come together to dismantle the assemblage, staging the process of undoing and unpacking.
